Christian Distinctiveness at Millfields CE Primary School

At Millfields CE Primary School, we believe that every child is like a mustard seed — full of God-given potential, ready to grow and flourish when nurtured with faith, love and care. Rooted in the teachings of Jesus, we provide a happy, nurturing and supportive environment where all can grow spiritually, academically and personally.

As Jesus taught in the Parable of the Mustard Seed (Matthew 13:31–32; Mark 4:30–32; Luke 13:18–19), even the smallest seed, when nurtured, can grow into a strong tree that offers shelter and life to all. In the same way, we seek to be a community where everyone is valued, respected and included — a place where pupils of all faiths and none feel safe, supported and inspired to make a positive difference in God’s world.

Through our core values of Faith, Respect, Courtesy and Endeavour, we help every member of our community to grow strong roots of character and deep branches of hope, courage and compassion, so that together we may flourish and help others to grow too.

Our school’s Christian character contributes to the academic achievement, personal development and wellbeing of all learners. Although we are a church school, we are inclusive to all members of the community we serve. Our aim is that pupils from all faiths and those without a faith feel safe and happy, secure in the knowledge that their beliefs are respected and valued.

The Christian character is evident in the strong sense of respect existing between staff and pupils, who are proud to be a part of our special school.
